A woman’s body goes through so many changes during pregnancy that you could write an entire book about the various symptoms and ways of dealing with them and still not cover everything. However, the one thing that all pregnant women will have in common is the fact that your belly will get very big, very fast, and for that reason your body will not have time to adjust, to build enough muscle to support the extra weight. So, especially when going to sleep you will feel how heavy your belly can be, and you will need some sort of support. Most women start out by using an average pillow, but thousands upon thousands of soon to be mothers have found that a special pregnancy pillow provides the best support. It is for that reason that, in our search for the best pregnancy pillow, we did not depend only on our own experienced, but actually used crowd sourcing to find the very best. We actually used all that input to put together individual reviews for each product in the following list. That is why you should make sure to scroll down past the list to find those reviews and find the best pregnancy pillow for your body type and your individual needs.

1. Leachco Back ‘N Belly Contoured Body Pillow
The first and most important thing to be said about the Leachco Back ‘N Belly Contoured Body Pillow is that, if you do not feel like reading through any of the other reviews, and you can afford it, this is the absolute best pregnancy pillow you could buy. The case is made of 35% cotton and 65% polyester, because that was the only way they could make the it sturdy enough to remain in perfect condition after months of regular use. If you absolutely need cotton, you can buy an extra pillow case, but you really do not need that. The Leachco body pillow is U shaped so you can twist and turn as much as you like during the night and it will still provide the level of support you need. It has a slightly higher head support area that will allow you to do away with your regular pillow entirely, and the sides are firm enough that they can support your belly as it grows. The bottom part of the pillow slides comfortably between y our legs taking away from the pressure on your hips. Finally, it is very important to note that the Leachco Back ‘N Belly Contoured Body Pillow is made in the USA and therefore it has that guarantee of quality that most other pillows cannot offer.
2. Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow
The Leachco Back ‘N Belly Contoured Body Pillow does have an Achilles’ heel and that is, because it is a full body pillow, most pregnant women will know that they feel hotter than usual, and the pillow can actually feel too warm. The obvious solution to that, which Leechco themselves were quick to solve by coming out with the Snoogle Total Body Pillow, was to create a C shaped pillow. The advantage is that you can still support your belly on the full pillow side, and you can even use the bottom part of the C to provide with some weight relieve if you turn. However, especially taller women, will not be able to use this feature, and that is why the Back ‘N Belly is still our favorite. Still the Snoogle does have several interesting features, besides the fact that it is a much cooler pillow, it is also specially designed so that it provides just the right height to support your head, and then it is firm enough to take the full weight of your belly.
3. Safra Maternity Pillow
As you will see, if you take the time to go through all of our reviews, there is just one real competitor for the Leachco pillows and it is the Safra Maternity Pillow. They are using shredded memory foam in the makeup of their pillow and it is very debatable whether the Safra or the Snoogle is the better maternity pillow. They do not have a U shaped pillow, so you still cannot comfortably turn from one side to another during sleep. However, the C shape is great if you leave in a very warm climate and do not want to sleep with the air conditioning on. And it is well worth noting that the Safra Maternity Pillow comes with its own 100% cotton pillow case, and that may offset the fact that it is not made in the US.
4. Leachco Snoogle Chic Total Body Pillow
There is one more Leachco body pillow that we need to introduce, and it is the Leachco Snoogle Chic. As the name itself suggests, Leachco is trying to really cover all its basis and in the Snoogle Chic they have kept the traditional C shape, but they have lowered the head support part, so it may be more comfortable for people who do not like a high pillow. They have also lengthened and thickened the bottom part so it is an excellent choice even for taller women. Finally, they have decided to go with a much richer cotton content in their pillow covers, at 60%, which really does make for a significant difference in how the pillow feels.
5. Blowout Bedding Contoured Body Pregnancy Pillow
As we start to move away from the big brand names the prices also start to go down. The Blowout Bedding Contoured Body Pregnancy Pillow is a new comer on the pregnancy pillow scene, but they were able to come up with a relatively good product. If there was something that we feel they should have focused on, is the head support part of the pillow. It is definitely too low even for women who prefer that type of pillows, and you will need to use something, like your regular pillow on top of it. However, the belly and leg support is adequate and we must not forget that the price tag is significantly lower, particularly for a full body, U shaped pillow.
6. Blowout Bedding J Shaped Pregnancy Pillow
Trying to cover all their basis, Blowout Bedding also have come out with a C or, to use their own terminology, J shaped pregnancy pillow. They are actually closer to the mark with this one, as the head support is good and so is the belly and leg support. The stuffing itself feels a little bit stringy and we are not sure you could use this pillow through 2 pregnancies, but it will definitely do, for just one. The cover itself is a high cotton blend and it feels very comfortable, and it is very easy to wash.
7. Web Linens Inc Oversized Pregnancy Pillow
Although we do like the Web Linens Inc Oversized Pregnancy Pillow it did not make the cut in our top 5 best pregnancy pillows list precisely because it is oversized. And the oversizing refers more to the thickness of the pillow, and the fact remains that, when laying down, it does not really matter how tall or big you are. Of course, there are going to be women who are going to love this, but since it is a bit too thick to support a pregnant belly, the pillow feels more like something to replace human contact than to actually provide a lot of help.
8. Boppy Slipcovered Body Pillow
We could not conceive this list without featuring a sample of what is the grandmother of all maternity pillows. The Boppy Slipcovered Body Pillow is the best of the old school maternity pillows. It is rather small and perfectly tailored if you are of average height and like sleeping in the fetal position. However, it does not allow for a lot of variance in your sleeping position and you will have to wake up every time when you switch from one side to the other to readjust your pillow. Still, there are plenty of people who remain faithful to this model, and it can be quite relaxing to the right person.
9. Todays Mom Cozy Comfort Pregnancy Pillow
On the same lines as the Oversized pillow we featured earlier, we found the Todays Mom Cozy Comfort Pregnancy Pillow. It is almost as big, so we think a very small percent of moms will actually like it, but those that need a bigger pillow will definitely not agree with our top 3 choices. It is also the only full body pregnancy pillow that comes with a brown, blue, beige, or white pillow case, and we know that there are a lot of future moms and dads out there who would appreciate a bit of color in their bedroom.
10. Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow
Finally, we have found a honest, single sided maternity pillow, that may actually be worth the effort of waking up to switch it when turning over in your sleep. It costs as much as a full body pillow, but the quality of the design is unbeatable. The belly support is not thick, but very firm so it can be wedged underneath your belly and provide just the right level of support. The head and neck support part is as soft and comfortable as any regular pillow, and the leg support is slightly thicker and firmer. In essence it would be the perfect pregnancy pillow if it came as a double or it was U shaped so whenever you turned you would find that same level of support.
